Chapter Two: Renovations and Dating

Feeling a little sad after Charlie rushed off, I took a cab to my house, made dinner quickly and went straight to bed.

That night I dreamt about failing the legacy. What if I never find someone to have kids with? What if I can never have a boy? What if my kids don’t want to continue the legacy? What if my kids CAN’T continue the legacy? What have I gotten myself into?

In the morning, I slept through my alarm. I woke up 10 minutes before my first day as a writer’s assistant and just barely had time to eat leftovers before I hurried to work.

A week after I started my job, I got a promotion! As a reward, I got an old computer and enough cash to add some walls to my house. Charlie showed up at my “door” a few hours after I got home from work. He was feeling flirty so he was fine with me using pick up lines and such on him.

Charlie: Want to go on a walk along the shore?

I nodded, he grabbed my hand and we started wandering towards the beach. I don’t know what was going through my mind at the time, but I kissed him. Full on. And he kissed back.

At about 11 o’clock, Charlie said goodbye and started to leave.

Kristen: Wait! Charlie, I know we’ve only just started to be romantic with each other… But will you be my boyfriend? I really like you and I want to take our relationship to the next level.

Charlie: Of course! We should get together for an actual date tomorrow night, but I really have to go now. I have work at 5:30 in the morning. Bye!

Charlie embraced one more time before he left.

At work today, I got to write my first children’s book! My boss, Joanne, gave me a vacation day. Nothing else worth mentioning happened though.

Charlie was waiting by my door with a rose and a question.

Charlie: Will you go on a date with me Kristen Curtis?

I jumped up and down, I was so excited!

Kristen: Of course I will!

At the bar later that night, I met Michelle Ross and Lisa Hughes and we hit it off. I have a feeling I’m going to be best friends with Michelle and Lisa…
